Everybody knows the key role of Jet Engine in airplane travel . It has 4 phases ... Suck , Squeeze , Bang and Blow . Our life is also like such travel . We can / could these stages to our journey and if obeyed seriously ... there are limitless opportunities .

Suck   - Identify Objectives , decide purpose .

Squeeze  - Edit and design / mold your targets at functional level , looking at application scope .

Bang - Understand the environment , make the recipe .

Blow  - Execute  , Execute and Execute !!

There comes a time in our profession , to give back to your community , friends and colleagues , whatever you have gathered in the journey .I got an opportunity to present the views in Pune regional meeting of MATPO - TPO Association of Maharashtra on the subject - Role of Training and Placement Officer .We gave a new name to ppt - " Greatest Salesman in the World ". There was an overwhelming response from all TPOs . We take pride in our profession and firmly believe that - This multitasking role is one of the most imp roles in Industry -Institute partnership . How to Go Ahead .....For young CS / IT generation .

From few of the world class talks in IT field , I could gather some inspirational rules for today's young IT students , aspirants , entrepreneurs and faculty . 


1. Forget the hype .

What matters to You and your passion is of top priority .If you run behind the hype , you are going to fall in trap which makes you clueless .
2. Choose your galaxy wisely. 

  Select your working domain / area , looking at your strengths and weaknesses . Link your likes with the need of community . 

3. Learn about software history .

You must be a well read person and should take all updates about the happenings in the industry .History always helps us to avoid mistakes and understand the evolution .

4. Keep on learning -

(one programming language every year and 6 books per year) 

Learning should not get stopped till the death . Learning keeps you fresh , genuine and gives independence . 


5. Teach .

Teaching is the best way to get knowledge . Make small groups and start conducting tech talks . It gives realization of our standard . 

 
6. Know your worth .

Take a Pride in what you do .Increase your value and know your worth .People should not take you lightly .


7. Send the elevator down .

Do not keep the things and stuff with you .Give it to others with open hand . River flows and water remains fresh . Do not be a Tank .

8. Follow your gut .

Listen to your Heart .It already knows , what you truly want to become . But then Give 100 % .


9.Fight complexity

There  is no life without struggle .Do not be afraid of complex situations . Be a part of a solution and not of a problem .

 
10 .Share the ideas ....

You will be accepted and widely recognized , only if you share the ideas . Increase your circle .You will get new ideas only if you share yours .Do not be individualist , be a Team player .

Yesterday , Arthur Ashkin was awarded the Nobel prize in Physics at the age of 96 . Optical Tweezer is his great invention . In stead of discussing the science behind it , I am putting few points .

* Age 96 - Only 8 % people on earth remain alive at this age .

* Only 2 % can walk and talk .

* We called age of  58 /60 is the age of retirement .

* 78 % people in the world do nothing after age of 62 .

* Only 22 % people do something after the age of 62 .

* Can we imagine the energy , passion and focus of Arthur Ashkin .

What we achieve , is mainly depends on our MIND SET  .

There are five types of  mind set shifts necessary in todays  V U C A world , which is Volatile , Uncertain , Complex and Ambiguous .

1. First imp shift should be from Rigidity to Flexibility .

When you are offered a job at Coimbatore or Pant nagar or Vizag  , just GO there without making any issues , with smiling face and Start .

2. Empathy  -  Do not see the world with your glasses . A person / situation in front of you has its own history and character . Quickly Relate to Changes .

3. Growth  - Understand  - Growth is the only indication of your liveliness . Change from stability to Growth Mind Set . Not necessary only monetary .It can be spiritual , Career , Knowledge , physical , skill , Interpersonal ... .Growth is linked with accomplishment .

4. Value Propositions - Character is like a tree and Reputation is just a shadow .It never exists . What truly exists is Character . Decide your values and stick to it till end .

5. Collaborative  - Change from Individualist to Team player . Talk , Work , exchange and be a part of healthy team always . You may walk fast alone , but you can reach far and farther only with colleagues and friends .

We need to first work on our own Minds .Rest will follow automatically .

As per Gardner’s multiple intelligence theory, every human being is blessed with minimum one of the following intelligences.

 Logical-mathematical intelligence
 Spatial-visual intelligence
 Bodily-kinesthetic intelligence
 Musical intelligences
 Interpersonal intelligence
 Intrapersonal
 Naturalist intelligence
 Existential intelligence

You need to keep this basic in mind. There is always a difference between a talent and strength. Converting Talent into Strength is the basis of bright Career. Watch the world carefully. From the above 9 intelligences, more than 300 career paths exists in India . 

2. Hit the Centre….(I+C+M).

Interest + Money = Good Job without respect .

Interest + Capability = Hobby .

Capability+Money = Dry Job with respect .

Interest +Capability+Money = SATISFYING CAREER .

Knowledge , Applications and Skills ...

4. Understand the difference – First Job with Lucrative Salary and doing something in which you have a passion.

6. Always see the bigger picture. Whatever field you choose, you should be happy and in love with for 40 long years.

7. Your priorities in life will help you choose your direction.

8. Getting placed in top industries always matters. Not for salary, they teach you PPP (Process, People and Price).

9. No Friends, No Family and No Fools in your path of career. Just leave them aside!

10. You should always have three mentors (Gurus) for specific reasons.
