True Motivation

Dear Friends,
A Real Warrior –A record man ,  finally got out to Covid.
What else can be a better example of sheer Motivation and Inspiration than this man - Tom Dempsey.
-          Tom was a football player of 70’s.
-          He was born without toes on his right foot and fingers on his right hand.
-          Tom played for 11 seasons as a place-kicker.
-          Tom will be always remembered for his game-winning, 63-yard field goal for the New Orleans Saints on Nov. 8, 1970, a league record of four decades.
-          Dempsey had a custom shoe that featured a flattened and enlarged toe surface.
-          Tom's life spoke directly to the power of the human spirit and exemplified his resolute determination to not allow setbacks to impede following his dreams and aspirations.
-          He died in April 2020 because of Covid.

Pain and Sufferings

Who has lived painless life  ?

Nobody . There is a very famous Hindi poem .It says  - Do not worry about Pains .It is your friend . However - we should remember one thing .Pain is inevitable but Suffering is optional .Attachments , desires and jealousy are the origins of sufferings .We mistake our pain for our sufferings .We have a very little control over the pain . But sufferings are entirely in our hands .

It is up to us , how we take our life . For some one ,  ABC of Life  may be Appalling, Boring and Cunning .But we should change it to - Adventurous , Beautiful and Captivating . It is our choice .

Only way to do this  -

Fill your heart with loving kindness , your time with noble actions and your mind with good thoughts .And then , suffering will disappear from your life .

I am trying ...can you also please  ...!!

Career in Arts

CAREER IN ARTS :

- Every career in Arts has different path  and it will take more or less time to embark up to certain level . We can list number of courses in Arts .However before doing that , each candidate needs to introspect himself . herself about three things -Natural Talent , Competencies and Strength . If we give sincere attention to these three ladders from class XI , then we can zero down to a proper discipline .Following example will prove this .

Talent of drawing things and you enjoy making sketches and filling in the details. This is a pleasant competency .Your talents can be profitably applied in fields such as Architecture, commercial graphics and cartooning. This is compatible careers. You decide to become commercial Artist. This is a pleasant role .

-Every Arts student should keep the above thinking in mind .There are hundreds of courses .But every course can not be suitable for you . There may be four to five courses which match with your personality .Then we can combine your passion , profession , vocation and finally a mission to top of it .

- To start the journey , make a flowchart and keep asking one question to your self  - where you find yourself after 20 years . As a profession , which is the most near and dear to you . In which area , you would be loved to be recognize and also to be proud .This planning simplifies most the thing .

-Another dimension to the career in Arts is your observation and connect to the society . Arts is very dynamic propositions .Things , pattern , demand changes very fast and hence the expectations as well as profiles take fast curves .

- One major decision , Arts candidate has to make .Whether Arts is my primary career or I am just looking at it only as a graduation and then jumping at some other area .This decision needs to be done at class XII only .

- Crux of the career planning is to observe successful careers , the struggles , the allied factors , the investments and return on investments . Arts students should realize the thin lines between hobby , passion and capability of converting passion into profession .Decide your mentors .Some mentors are available through writings .

- Arts students should remember a simple principle .Applying Operations on Contents results into products .

For example - I am an actor and I see a chair on the stage .I will start thinking the seating styles in that chair during forthcoming play .But , in the same situation , if I am a designer , I start thinking , how I can moderate the design and construct the new chair .

H Factors of Life

From childhood to old age, an individual plays many roles, akin to a large and
intricate story. A student may become a degree holder, who ends up becoming
an employee, who in turn may become a manager, and similarly a director;
essentially creating an unending journey that traverses many roles.

Our personal lives contain a similar pattern as we take on multiple roles and
personas as our environment dictates, with a brand new set of challenges.
In both of these slices of life, the driving motivation that spurs an individual on is
"success". The definitions of success change as easily as the roles we take on;
the satisfaction derived from these successes also depend on our situation and
how we perceive it.

The 'H' Factor is a useful and interesting thought process which retains its validity
for any age or role. Regardless of the size of the goal we wish to achieve, there
is a need for three H's to be synchronously working together. Head, Heart and
Hand. There is quite a bit of discussion regarding the spiritual level of life, but
many find it difficult to assimilate and relate to these various factors, so I shall
attempt to simplify the life equation

Each milestone that we thrive to achieve starts with solid reasoning. The brain or
the head plays the most important role in determining our conviction. You,
yourself first must be convinced with the idea of the job in hand. It is rightly said,
logic should be a backbone of the goal we are trying to achieve. A sharp decision
on differentiating between meaningful and meaningless can make or break a
person’s life. This implies to our career, family, financial and professional
decisions. So keep your head in place is a golden rule for success.

Second ‘H’ makes your objective alive and that is determined by the heart. We all
hear it so often that ‘Do it by heart’ but we hardly do so. The highest level of
involvement can only be seen when we can not see between the art and the
artist. Everyone is talented and is blessed with various strengths but the heart is
the biggest factor in determining the conversion of strengths into achievements.

The climax of this tussle is the last ‘H’ - the hand. Just do it. Only planning and
involvement will remain static if you never work on the ground with all the tireless
efforts.

Vivekanand once said ‘ By playing football instead of reading Geeta, you can be
closer to heaven’. Maharshi Karve, baba Amte, Narayan Moorthy, Steve Jobs
there was one thing common between all these achievers and that was the ability
to work hard and pushing the limits. Everyone had a dream, a plan but finally
power to work to the fullest and not stop decided the successful stories of these
great leaders of the world.

Dear friends, life is full of challenges and we can definitely overcome these
hurdles by analysing them using the golden rule of ‘H’ factor. Let us make a
philosophy of life - Clarity in thinking, purity in heart and spontaneity in action.
Wishing you all a very happy life ahead.

Five Words to be avoided in Effective Communication .

Good tips - effective communication .

Always Avoid following 5 words .

They make your communication ineffective .Some words can reduce the effect of your speech and hence can make your conversation look reckless and unwise. Also, unnecessary words can make your conversation lengthy and people usually don’t have time to pay attention to lengthy conversations. Hence, if you wish your listeners to be attentive, eliminate the following words from your speech.

That

The usage of ‘that’ is superfluous in a sentence most of times. Don’t use that when you refer to people. ‘I have several friends that live in the neighborhood’ is an example where that is used incorrectly.

Went

Extra usage of went includes phrases like ‘I went to school or to the store’ or ‘to church’, or ‘to a conference’, ‘to Vegas’ or whenever you intend to go anywhere. Instead of went, consider using drove, skated, walked, ran, and flew. There are number of ways to move from here to there. Pick a new verb. Don’t be lazy and lose an opportunity to express yourself.

Honestly

People use ‘honestly’ in a casual way to add emphasis. The problem is the moment you use ‘honestly’ with any phrase, you will unwillingly say that the rest of the part of your conversation is not honest.

Absolutely

Adding this word to most sentences is frequent. Something is either necessary, or it isn’t. Absolutely necessary doesn’t make it more necessary. If you recommend an essential course to your new employees, it’s essential. Coincidentally, the definition of essential is absolutely necessary.

Very

Accurate adjectives don’t need qualifiers. Very is intended to magnify a verb, an adjective, or another adverb. But, in conversation it makes your statem

Usage of new words in your speech adds elegance in your vocabulary and people perceive you as more formal. Therefore, avoid the excessive use of adverbs such as literally, obviously basically etc and fillers and give way new verbs and adjectives to make your conversation effective.

Post Covid - Campus Placements ..... A letter from Heart to Heart .

Dear Students  ,

First of all , I wish a safe and healthy status for you all . We need to remember one thing that after independence , for the first time , we are witnessing this situation .Probably , our last two generations also did not come across such serious epidemic . In simple way , all are striving for staying alive .

Now , once  , this fact is clear , let us look at reality .The very certain observation is - we need to get ready for a severe disruption . This will be for all spheres of life viz . living , jobs , travel , health and what not . However , please remember one thing -there are more than 50 countries in the world like Syria , Lebanon , Afghanistan , Libya , which are witnessing such situations from many years .Reason may be different . So we are the part of the mankind and no different .By God's grace , we are in the country like India and have a strong systems at a place under strong leadership .

Now , the most burning question for 2020 and 2021 batches ... What will happen to us ? Yes . Both the batches are very special who will witness a global recession and this may be the third time in last two decade , when job cycles are getting disturbed . The first was Y2K phase , second was 9/11 attacks , third was subprime crisis and fourth was this biggest moment .

Such crisis are the part of our life and hence we should accept it . Just think , we were not the sufferers of partition in 1947 , we were not the victims of any earth quakes or Tsunami , we were not caught in any of the riots and hence , every moment is different and we are living this moment , hence let us accept and think realistically without the specs of emotions .

Situation will remain tough from June to October and some hopes can be seen after that . For 2020 batch , large no of industries will onboard you , but the time frame is uncertain . The joining months can be from July to December .Few industries who has been hit badly , will have no other way , but to revoke the offers . Very few , can give you the joining on time .A lot is also depending on the date of exams and the commutation  to start .

What best we can do in this situation ....

1. Keep the morale high . Challenges are the charm of life and there is no life without struggle .

2. Remember - one slogan - These Days will also gone .

3. Up skill your self . Especially in the area of CDC . Cloud , Data and Cyber Security .

4. Core branches  to learn new technologies in line with Industry 4.0 .

5. Explore new  - Design thinking , Collaborative Skills , consumer research etc .

6. Search the new domains , which will in boom , post covid .

7 . Remember  - 4 C - Coding as a Core  , Concepts as a foundation , Communication as a key and Capital as a investment .

8.  The term  - Permanent employment - is going to vanish like a man losses a tail over the years .Future is a gig economy .Pieces of work and parcel out work  to many , outside an organization .

India is going to bounce back strongly . We have the highest talent , brightest manpower , extra ordinary hard working skills and flexible genes .

We will be Back , we have to back .... more empathically !!
